AGILITY CONTROL suspension with selective damping system The AGILITY CONTROL suspension with selective damping system combines both agility and ride comfort. The shock absorbers adjust automatically to the driving situation. The superior damping effect and stabilisation of the vehicle come into their own on poor road surfaces in particular.
AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission with four transmission modes and Race Start function[1] The new AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission with which the C 63 AMG is equipped, impresses through its great diversity and efficiency. With AMG aluminium steering wheel gearshift paddles, four driving programmes and the Race-Start function, the new 7-speed automatic transmission makes a 10-percent consumption reduction over the preceding model possible, accompanied by enhanced driving dynamics and greater efficiency. The "S" (Sport), "S+" (Sport Plus), "C" (Comfort) and "M" (Manual) modes each have different gear-change characteristics and speeds: gear changes in "S" and "S+" modes are around 20 or 40 percent quicker than in "C" mode respectively – while in "M" mode gear changes take just 100 milliseconds, making them some 50 percent faster. A push of a button activates the desired driving mode: distinctly sporty or more comfort-oriented. There is the automatic double-declutching function when downshifting, which provides an emotional sound experience as well as reducing power-off effects. This function has a positive effect when braking on the approach to bends in particular.

Manual transmiss. (6-speed)[3] The short-throw action and optimum matching of engine power, transmission ratios and final drive ratio provide optimum conditions for sporty yet fuel-efficient driving. In addition, a display in the instrument cluster supports a particularly thrifty driving mode. The ECO start/stop function ensures that the engine is switched off temporarily at traffic lights and in traffic jams, thus saving fuel.

Safety

Adaptive brake light, flashing If you make an emergency stop from an initial speed of more than 50 km/h the adaptive brake lights flash 5.5 times per second. This flashing of the brake lights warns the vehicles behind you, which can give them more time to react. If the vehicle is braked to a complete stop from a speed in excess of 70 km/h, the hazard warning lamps are also switched on.

ADAPTIVE BRAKE system with HOLD function, Hill Start Assist, priming and drying function The standard-fit ADAPTIVE BRAKE system improves ride comfort and safety by helping to perform critical braking manoeuvres with the basic function of the ABS anti-lock braking system while convenience functions make it easier to master challenging driving situations. Supportive HOLD function: Activating the HOLD function of the ADAPTIVE BRAKE system by stepping on the brake pedal (depressing firmly) keeps the vehicle from rolling unintentionally when stopped at a light or in stop-and-go traffic. Extra help: The Hill-Start Assist function prevents the vehicle from rolling back unexpectedly on inclines when moving from the brake to the accelerator pedal. Full braking power without delay: The "brake drying" function removes the film of water that forms on the brake discs in wet conditions.
