The CLS Coupé is very efficient thanks to its new 6- and 8-cylinder petrol engines of the BlueDIRECT engine family. Thanks to innovative engine technologies such as direct petrol injection as well as fast, precisely operating injectors it has been possible to achieve a considerable reduction in fuel consumption and lower emissions compared with the engines in the preceding model.
The new BlueDIRECT V6 engine that powers the CLS 350 BlueEFFICIENCY was developed using lightweight materials consistently. It features spray-guided direct petrol injection with piezo injectors, four valves per cylinder and adjustable intake and exhaust camshafts. The innovative BlueDIRECT V8 engine stands for effortless superiority in every driving situation.
