Plenty of driving pleasure combined with smooth operation and low consumption – these are the strong points of the B-Class petrol engines. The top-of-the-line model is the B 200 TURBO. With an output of 142 kW (193 hp) and 280 Nm of torque, it accelerates to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds and attains a top speed of 225 km/h.
The other three petrol-engine models – the B 150, the B 170 and the B 200 – show just how dynamic fuel-efficient driving can be. And the B 150 and B 170 models are also available as BlueEFFICIENCY models, featuring a fuel-saving start/stop function: if you shift into neutral below a specific speed threshold, the ECO start/stop function recognises that the engine is not required and switches it off automatically. As soon as you engage a gear, the engine restarts. And it does this so swiftly and silently that it goes practically unnoticed. Only the low fuel consumption will remind you that your vehicle is equipped with this special technology.
(B 150: fuel consumption combined: 6.6–7.1 l/100 km, CO2 emissions combined: 158–171 g/km; B 150 BlueEFFICIENCY[1]: fuel consumption combined: 6.2–6.4 l/100 km, CO2 emissions combined: 148–153 g/km; B 170: fuel consumption combined: 6.8–7.3 l/100 km, CO2 emissions combined: 163–175 g/km; B 170 BlueEFFICIENCY[1]: fuel consumption combined: 6.4–6.6 l/100 km, CO2 emissions combined: 152–157 g/km; B 200: fuel consumption combined: 7.2–7.5 l/100 km, CO2 emissions combined: 173–180 g/km; B 200 TURBO: fuel consumption combined: 7.9–8.2 l/100 km, CO2 emissions combined: 190–197 g/km)[2]
