The diesel engines for the C-Class Saloon combine elements that were long considered incompatible: maximum torque and smoothness of operation. At the same time it uses the least amount of fuel ever – thanks to innovative technology from Mercedes-Benz Research.
An exceptional result in terms of agility, smoothness of operation, consumption figures and emissions has been achieved by the Mercedes-Benz engineers with the new-concept 4-cylinder diesel powerplant with four output levels. The engines are significantly more powerful, but at the same time more frugal and cleaner than their respective predecessor models. The following models are available to choose from: C 180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, C 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, C 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, C 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY and C 250 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY.
The C 200 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, C 220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY and C 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY models (manual transmission), and all 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission models are also equipped with the ECO start/stop function as standard. | |
Impressive features of the 300 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY and C 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY diesel engines include smooth running characteristics, reduced consumption and low emission figures.
